Why Choose Automatic Delivery?

If you own your own tank, you have your choice of a number of local suppliers from which to purchase propane. It’s a competitive marketplace and everyone promises the best service. What does good service mean to you? In our world, we feel that our job is to ensure there is nothing complicated about our relationships with our customers. We feel that the best relationships are those where we are able to fulfill the customer’s needs every time! And our customers only generally need one thing:  Propane.

So, we have a number of ways to serve customers, believe it or not. Customers who own their own tanks can choose to call us when they need propane or they can go on an automatic delivery contract. If customers choose to stay on a Will-Call contract, that means they will call us when they need propane. This works just fine as long as customers give us time to make deliveries. For example, if we hit a cold snap like we did a few weeks ago, our phones are ringing off the hook. If a Will-Call customer were to call letting us know his tank is below 10%, we are in a very tough position. In times like that, we are doing everything we can to reach as many people as possible, and with obstacles like icy roads and driveways, our ability to reach everyone is greatly impacted. So, for Will-Call customers, we urge you to call when your tank is around 35%, regardless of the weather.

For automatic delivery customers, well, we have you covered. Our system knows how big your tank is, how large your home is and even what appliances and equipment in your home run off of propane. When we factor in the temperature in our area over time, we can accurately estimate how full your tank is. We will auto schedule your deliveries so that you are never in danger of running low on propane gas.

So Long Summer

Oh no! We are already packing up the beach chairs and putting them back in the garage for another eight months. How can this be? Indeed it is almost Labor Day and for those of you early risers, you may have noticed that sunrise is getting later and later these past few months. So, as we head towards the last remaining days of the summer season, keep in mind that it will not be long until cool nights return to the Delaware Valley. Keep in mind also that there are only a few remaining weeks in which customers can take advantage of our Pre-Buy program for the 2015-2016 season. We hope everyone enjoys the coming Labor Day Weekend and we look forward to serving all of you as we head into these chillier seasons ahead.

More Snow and Cold Temps Have Chester County Thinking Energy Savings

Looking out of our windows we can see the snow piling up and the forecast only seems to show temps in the 20s and 30s for the next week or so. Users of propane, oil and natural gas all of the same challenges during weather like this. How do you save money on energy costs while “thinking green” at the same time?

The first thing we generally bring up with our clients is system age. How old is your current system in your home? Older systems regardless of the energy source can operate with but a fraction of the energy efficiency of today’s modern systems. Consider speaking with your HVAC professional about having a new propane system installed in your home today.

Windows and doors. Yes, as with your home’s HVAC system, there are also energy inefficiencies to be found in your home’s older windows and doors. Newer models will generally have much higher energy efficiency ratings and have a greater ability to hold in heat (or keep heat out depending on the season and desired effect).

Have you considered a programmable thermostat? Some of the newer models even sync up with your cell phone or computer. You can easily manage your home’s temperature even when you are not at home. Beyond this, you can manage the temperature of your home depending on when you are present, away or sleeping. Varying the temperature of your home based on need can help with savings on energy costs in a significant way!

Winter Weather and Your Propane Delivery

What should you do if there is snow on the ground or if it is going to snow when your propane is scheduled for delivery?

At Styer Propane, we ask that you please shovel any snow away from your propane tank and place a stake to mark the location of the tank. Doing so will greatly assist our our driver in locating your tank in the snow.

We thank all of you in advance for your understanding and offering your help in these snowy situations.
